So I got the old.. Like really old PC from my brother, which is still an upgrade to my system since mine is even older (i5-2500k, 8gb ram, 970).

Now, I'm on a budget and want to upgrade only the GPU of my new system, because I'm getting operated and want to play some video games during my recovery. But my research tells me that some people call my new CPU an absolute piece of trash, while Others say it's still pretty decent for it's age in a budget build. Therefore I need some Help choosing a new GPU and If that even makes sense. Was thinking of a used 2060 super, 6700/6750 (xt), 7600(?), or even a 1080 ti, but I feel Like that's a gamble since its so super old. Being able to play Baldurs Gate 3 on Low settings in 1080p without having to spend more than Like 250€ would be great. Ideas?

My new PC:

  • ASUS Gryphon Z97 Armor Edition (Micro-ATX, Intel Z97 chipset, thermal armor protection)
  • i7-4790K (4 cores, 8 threads, base 4.0 GHz, turbo up to 4.4 GHz)
  • CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H80i GT (Closed-loop liquid cooler, 120 mm radiator)
  • 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3-1600 MHz (4 × 8 GB)
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW+ (4 GB GDDR5, factory overclocked)
  • Power Supply: Corsair RM650 (80 PLUS Gold, fully modular, 650 W)
