The media immediately went silent on Luigi once the bigwigs realized everyone they talked to supported Luigi.
CNN worships Trump, they value ratings over everything.
Except when those ratings are for acting in self defense against mass murderers.
His trial will not be covered on TV, except to briefly announce the charges being thrown at him.

The next court date has been set for February 21.

As much as I'd like to believe it's a conspiracy, news organizations make money from clicks. There isn't much for them to monetize between now and February 21, so they're focusing on more immediate stuff.
If they can get good photos and text from the next court date, Luigi will get more coverage.
Edit: there have been like five plane crashes, one US inauguration, and major US wildfires since his last court date.

I have zero reason to believe that conservative acolytes of St. Luigi have actually diminished.

The state (New York) gets one chance to convict, and the feds get one chance to convict. This is a notable loophole to double jeopardy that has been the court precedent for a while.
The feds don't have the jurisdiction to try regular old murders; there has to be some kind of angle that makes it a federal question. In this case, I think their using an alleged interstate bus trip as the hook for federal jurisdiction.
