Right now, I’m playing the early access version of Baldurs Gate 3. I’m getting ready to put it down (frustrated: BG3 has the potential to be good, but without controller support, I’m getting really frustrated with the UI. ) and switch to Yakuza Like a Dragon.

What are you playing now and what are you looking forward to playing next?

I’ve been playing Diablo 4 on it the last couple of days. Before that was Death Stranding.

Currently playing through Halo Reach. I've never played the series before, and so far I'm really liking it. Even though it is marked as playable, the only slight slowdown was signing into Microsoft, which wasn't too bad even.

I've been playing a lot of Othercide lately. Even though it says unsupported it actually runs really well! You just need to use the proton hotfix not default. I also played through Symphony of War recently and it's terrific. Anyone looking for something that you can dump 40+ hours into a single playthrough while also being EXTREMELY battery friendly, check it out!

I use my deck daily. Anything that is super intensive I actually just stream from my PC upstairs to my deck / or TV downstairs using the deck. For native games I am currently playing Diablo IV, Eastward, and about to start XCOM 2 after finishing the first game entirely on deck earlier this year.

I'm having a great time playing The Saboteur on my Deck. It's not on Steam but if you buy it on GOG you can run it through Heroic Game Launcher's Steam integration. You can also run the EA App (yuck) version on Deck but it takes a little more doing, or emulate the PS3 version.

A criminally underrated open world game from 2009 where you play as an ornery Irish man fighting Nazis in occupied Paris. It's well written and acted and nails the aesthetic of the time and place. Plus it's just fun blowing shit up.

Also my friend got me Potion Craft which is cozy.

Alien Fireteam Elite! Runs very well on the Deck.

I am absolutely ravishing skyrim with mods on my steam deck right now. I'm playing a destruction mage, and half the time when im attacking I say "and so I started blastin" to myself. I play Vampire Survivors often, dead cells, subnautica, No Mans Sky, etc. Might give elden ring another try since I've been enjoying more difficulty in games.

Over the year I've finished Outer Wilds, Hades, PikuNiku, the second Ori game, and have been slowly getting through Elden Ring. Next is probably Tunic, but idk if it's worth my time after playing through the first 2 hours.

Nowadays I can't use any other controller than the deck, so I sometimes link it with the pc just for that - I just can't live without the gyro and the back buttons

Recently grabbed D4, it’s running great atm (60fps).

Love mine. Mostly been playing Descenders and rubber duck simulator

I pre-ordered the Deck way back on day 1 with the expectation that it would be a good emulation handheld, non-demanding indies, and Civ VI device, and that any modern gaming it ends up doing besides that would be gravy.

Proton turned out to be far more compatible than I ever imagined.

Still, I mostly do emulation, indies, and low-graphic strategy games, because anything with serious visuals, I don't want to play on handheld. But it is great to be able to continue whatever strategy or RPG savegame I've got going when I travel.

The steam decks power is just slightly lower than my desktop. I am still using an rx 470 4gb, so I think I would be so happy with a steam deck. I am not really playing anything too demanding anyway.

Got my steam deck about August last year, I've been using it almost exclusively for gaming this year. At the beginning of the year I used my gaming PC to play some Battlefield 2042 but other than that its been Steam Deck only.

Blasphemous im working on beating right now before the 2nd one comes out. Also playing a bit of Ride 4 before 5 comes out. Once i am ready to loop back to other games on my list to beat I'll also be playing Nier Automata. Another I've found of interest recently just due to its simple gameplay and coop capability is Death Road to Canada.

The Steam Deck helps feed my FFXIV addiction.

I've been using my steam deck mostly for older stuff that I bought and never got around to playing, like Hades and Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen.

I got mine last July, and it’s quickly become my favorite “console” of all time. Rn I’m playing Fallout New Vegas and emulating some older Monster Hunter games.

I recently played through the entire Yakuza franchise on it too.

I've been playing octopath traveler 2 and hi fi rush. I wish it was a bit smaller though. After playing Zelda on my switch it reminded me how unwieldy it can be.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I can’t play action games on my deck at all. I have small hands. The switch fits me much better, so I play action games like TOTK on it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Oh man. Exactly the same opinion. Finished BotW and back to the steamdeck just felt so weird. I've got a satisfye grip on my switch but it's just so much more comfortable and ergonomic.

Got mine a couple months ago, my most played games so far are Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Monster Train, Isaac and Enter the Gungeon.
Some others I like that play well on the deck with good controller support: Crypt of the Necrodancer, Spelunky, Cluster Truck, Baba is You, Hades, Hotline Miami 1 & 2, Mark of the Ninja, Steamworld Heist and of course Vampire Survivors.
Previous thread for some more ideas.

Been playing a lot of the Resident Evil 4 remake, and Stalker Anomaly. The gyro controls for aiming are amazing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Been playing Haiku The Robot. Humble Bundle has a good deal on metroidvanias right now and I'm going through the ones I missed. Just finished Lone Fungus the other day.

Steamdecker here (is this how we call ourselves ?). Since I got the Deck I played a few dozen hours of Stardew Valley, some Broforce and Hades.

One of the best purchases I made in the last few years.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I just got hooked on cities skylines so I haven’t been on my Deck as much, but I was playing a ton of vampire survivors and midnight suns for a while.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Dark Souls 1 for the first time! Runs beautifully. Gonna do 2 next.

I absolutely love the steam deck. I bounce around games, the most recent new release I played was Hogwarts Legacy. More recently I've been using it as like background occupation to listen to podcasts and have been playing euro truck sim 2 and American truck sim. It's also gotten me back into Elite: Dangerous so I should probably finish that exploration route I had set up. I also very almost finished Celeste (like I'm on the final level), so I should probably go back and finish that. Like I said, I bounce around lol.

Playing next I'm not really sure, I bought KSP2 on launch day but wasn't really able to run it, but the new updates seem to have majorly improved performance so I'll try that when I next feel like it.
