Oh, and no, I don't think I'll paint it. I like the raw wood with burned end look to it.
First, that looks amazing, such a cool model.
Second, being as it is on a cutting board I had a moment of thinking it was a cake or chocolate.
Lol!. I had to trim a few pieces, hence the cutting board.

The burnt ends were a bit sticky. I'm working on cleaning some tar-y stains
