Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

They used to claim gay people caused hurricanes, too. Same fucking bigotry for decades.

Oh yea. These WOKE wildfires always want to Diversify the areas they are burning, are Equal in how they burn every house regardless of the occupant's race or gender, and are Inclusive and want to bring more houses under its warmth. God damn wildfires and their #DEI

/s

DEI caused the mayor to divert millions from the fire department to police, to neglect controlled burns, and build your entire city out of wood and plastic.

It's obviously all that steamy hot gay sex, that causes global warming. Steamy hot gay sex that conservatives never never ever fantasize about.

And sometimes don't even post comments under videos on porn sites about how hot trans porn is, or how they are a "black Nazi".

Also don't forget they turned the frogs gay first! /s

Oh, and I'd be remiss not to mention the 10 hour version. 🤣

It’s those conservatives in the closet who started a fire because it was dark in the closet.

We hired a Black guy and a typhoon hit. I think the evidence speaks for itself. /s

I’d argue what they’re doing is exactly in line with their 2025 plans to put queer people / leftists in prison / camps. Blame us for everything. Get Meta and Apple and Nvidka CEOs to line up to kiss the ring & (Meta so far) alter policies to let anyone queer be called mentally ill (& therefore In Need Of Their Help), etc. remember the proposed legislation to call nonprofits terrorists.

Bizarre no. Planned and evil, yes.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago

Nah, this is the consequences of that climate change and water shortages y'all have been denying for years.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

Terrorists would say that, wouldn't they.

How long can the bullshit machine outrun reality? That’s going to be the defining question of the early 21st century. How long can we be tricked into letting the ultra-wealthy run our civilization into the ground?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

I suspect the answer to that might be the same as to the classic question, "Can the markets stay completely insane and irrational longer than I can remain solvent?"

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

I’m sure it’s sadly longer than we think

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Well, if the broligarchy can get full control of virtually all institutions, as well as media platforms and force the epistemic closure they so desperately crave, they can start shooting prominent members of the reality-based community (see how they talk about Fauci as a for instance), imprison some others, and silence all the others.

If the "free speech absolutists" that run things like xitter and FB do just enough, they might not have to resort to such drastic measures. Just never invite any reality-based people on television, and shadow ban anyone telling any inconvenient truths on major platforms. When liars like donvict talk about "fake news", it's because they are all about projection.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

It's already outrun reality. Trump voters either have no concept of reality, or they are willing to back Nazis and bigots in order to get a lower tax rate.

Read "The Ministry for the Future" if you want a hard-scifi look into what's going to happen. Other countries, especially the global south, will have nothing to lose when they target the global oligarchs.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

Keep in mind. Conservatives believe in climate change, when it suited them.

One of trump’s golf courses cited it as a reason for a sea wall.

More pointedly, the insurance companies that are paying off republicans because they’re assholes, are also saying it’s climate change that’s forcing them to drop insurance in California. Even though they’re directly donating to climate deniers.

It’s all just a massive grift. A giant “fuck you because you’re so stupid you let us do it.”

We didn't start the fire 🎶

Definition of bizarre: strikingly out of the ordinary.

Poor headline.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Well, for the qons, this seems more par for the course and not all that bizarre, given their track record.
