I want to play my games, not grub boot entry simulator.
Bruh. I've been using Fedora and EndeavorOS for the past few years and have not had to edit grub boot entries once. That really sounds like something that I would be doing if I was dual booting Windows lol.
Why is this so heavily disliked?
LTT's analysis is often haphazard, poorly informed, or both. Predictably, that leads to a high rate of bad conclusions. Linus Sebastian in particular seems to put sensationalism above all else, and he overestimates his understanding of computer systems. I would not recommend his advice to anyone.
I can't speak for other people, though. Maybe someone else will chime in with other reasons.
I don't watch much of this kind of content (I prefer text) but from what I have seen, Gamers Nexus is a superior channel.
GN actually has a pretty fantastic website full of written content, and even with a properly-working RSS feed. LTT has no such thing.
That being said, GN is very high-level and focused approach (gaming PCs) and LTT is a more low-level overview of a lot of different stuff.
Yeah, you can really tell with LTT that they make videos almost daily in the quality of their videos. I still find their content to be very useful to discover new things, but I don't really trust them when it comes to good conclusions and accurate data. That is where Gamer's Nexus really shines in my opinion, even though they cover different topics than LTT, being more review and investigation focused.
LTT content.
I will add that it gets downvoted on reddit a lot too.
Probably because LTT has been shown to be deceitful, unethical, and unwilling to take steps to ensure accuracy. These two videos from GN explain: https://youtu.be/FGW3TPytTjc?si=b8UhcBFU9eo0DPv0

Prior to that I found Linus smug face intensely irritating. And when I went looking for information on stuff his videos would always pop up but they never actually helped.
So while I mildly disliked Linus prior to the GN investigation, now I've actually blocked his YouTube channels.
YMMV
Because it's Lemmy.
No idea lol
A positive video about linux by LTT. Impressive. To be fair, it is realistic and the average Joe won't bother with it, but somebody who wants to and sees how easy it is to install, might be convinced by the video. Nice job. Hopefully Valve will be the one to invest in an InstallLinux.exe
that can take you through a wizard on windows, do all the necessary backup, software alternative search, reboots, and so on, so that a complete noob can just double click the .exe
and have linux installed without a USB stick in an hour or less.
