Does watching episodes 5-7 (S1) of Lower Decks count?

Of course! Is it your first time watching it?
I saw a couple of later episodes at a friend's house while ago, but otherwise yeah. It's been fun so far! My partner is watching it with me and can point out references and other things while we watch together because they've seen a lot of the older shows.
I did the same thing when I was introducing my spouse to Star Trek! We started with DS9 and expanded from there.
Finished the last season of lower decks. Still not sure how I feel about the ending. Definitely going to have to give it another watch or two
Giving Disco another try. Made it through S1 and half of S2. Oddly enough, definitely enjoying it more this time, still my least fav.
Do you have any particular things that didn't work for you? I have mixed feelings on the ending and the season as a whole, but overall I did enjoy it.
Lower Decks 5x09 and 5x10 spoilers!
I thought the dimension hopping was interesting to a point, but having it be a permanently available thing opens up way too many issues. I thought the quick shot hinting that Discovery was actually a alternative dimension was funny, and is sure to stir up many arguments! I also liked that we got to see a bit more of Curzon too. I wonder if they thought of having Jadzia and Ezri as well and couldn't make it happen.
Discovery is definitely my least favorite as well, but it does have some good points here and there.
Agreed about the finale. It seems like it was hastily drawn up to create a potential new series (possibly Section 31). It all just felt like it came to an immediate head, and ended up too pretty.
I definitely felt like the whole Starbase 80 arc had a lot of a back door pilot feel to it. And honestly I’d be down for it too.

I've heard about those Star Trek channels but never checked it out. Sounds like a good time though!
I watched sg1 "200" which has a "star trek" scene in it....
I think I remember that episode, it was pretty funny at times!
Lots of things happening over the holidays, but I fit these in!
