Showerthoughts
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted, clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts: 1
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- No politics
- If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
- A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
- If you feel strongly that you want politics back, please volunteer as a mod.
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report the message goes away and you never worry about it.
Hahaha... I'm not gonna lie, you probably nailed my current state
That would explain why you posted this on Showerthoughts of all places.
I believe I have statimated the people of Iceland accurately.
Have fun, stay safe, tell Bjork and the people that made EVE Online we said hi.
You partying in the shower?
You aren't?
Can't fit, too many people partying in it now.
I dunno, sounds pretty statimated to me.
Also, Happy New Year! Have fun and be safe.
Lol
Thanks
fireworks must be outlawed in all countries.
Thousands of industries worldwide release thousands of times more chemicals in a day than a firework display ever could. It's fine. Out of all the sources of pollution, I'd wager fireworks should be near the bottom of our list of concerns.
Though I wish more safety measures around them were introduced, both in terms of manufacturing and usage.
Burning heavy metals in the atmosphere seems like it might be bad
Happy new year Jon Jonsson!
Pretty pathetic this year in West Seattle. I heard a feeble burst of fireworks right at the stroke of midnight, then a couple minutes of sporadic booms and that was it. Usually it starts earlier and goes on for a good half hour. And I don't think it was even raining. Not that I blame people for low morale.
