The most prolific move is that Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026.....

That's not what prolific means!
I honestly wonder how people who write for a living make these mistakes.

It’s easy bc they also don’t do any editing.

They mean for themselves. This information will give them clicks, which shall be fruitful for their bank accounts.

The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026 to Oct. 1, 2027.

What the hell is taking them so long? A 5 year gap between sequels is ridiculous.

I'm ok with that. 5 years is long enough that it becomes completely new. I don't want marvel fatigue to ruin this new Batman.

Yeah I wonder if they just don't want The Batman to clash with the DCU movies tonally, or have its reputation ruined by them if they turn out to be bad.

However it could also be that now that they have the script they know it'll take longer to shoot and edit than they originally thought.

If it stays as good as the first, all will be forgiven.

It is longer than normal, but not far outside the norm. Most Batman film sequels are 3-4 years apart, so 5 is long, but just a bit longer.

Plus we got a fantastic Penguin show this year set in the same universe, so it feels more alive.

Script is still not finished

It’s not ridiculous, it’s great! Focus on quality, not quantity!
