FYI Biggest competition is Google right now, and they don't run Nvidia cards.

It's like saying Microsoft bought more Intel chips than Apple, while Apple makes their own.

Meta is doing… something

Yeah, it's not like they don't have competitors, but this makes it sound like they're alone on the mountain.

Y'all worthless users better start using this AI shit or they're gonna have to get medieval on your asses. C'mon! C'mon, they've stuck it in every single thing they've got, start using it! GIVE IT YOUR LIFE! You terrible worthless users!

My toothbrush says it’s AI powered for some reason.

So is my washing machine. All that seems to mean is that the programs are listed in a different order each time I use it.

...and 100 times as many GPUs as gamers!

Being a PC gamer in 2024 kind of sucks when it takes 24gb of video RAM to run a video game and yet all the cards are being bought by institutional investors for AI.

For the record, these aren't consumer GPUs. They're a completely different beast, designed specifically for running transformer models and costing up to $70,000 each.

Yeah that's what I use for running modded Minecraft.

Your must get, like, 10fps on a rig like that.

It hasn’t been difficult to get a GPU as a gamer for a few years now. What are you taking about?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Also, what games are really maxing out the ram? My impression is that most modern GPUs are overkill in this pretty stagnant video game market.
