In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) made a public declaration that The Satanic Temple will not have any part in the state’s program.
“Some have said that if you do a school chaplain program that, somehow, you’re going to have satanists running around in all our schools. We’re not playing those games in Florida,” DeSantis said in August, according to the Florida Phoenix. “That is not a religion. That is not qualified to be able to participate in this. So, we’re going to be using common sense when it comes to this. You don’t have to worry about it,” he added.

Get fucked Rhonda Santis. Let’s see you try to block our presence by what, creating a list of “actual” religions acceptable to you?

Christianity as practiced in the US isn’t a real religion either. They reject every tenet stipulated by their own holy book. Fake anti-Jesus cultists, the whole lot of them.

That is exactly what they are going to do, why do you think they are on about controlling non-profits.

theyre going to have a problem as one of the other great fake religions, scientology owns an entire city in florida. they wont take being declare a 'non-religion' lying down, even if they arent trying to get into the schools.

I don't remember scientology publicly opposing their views or affecting the collection plate.

Unfortunately that is what will set them (and the Mormons) apart with these things. The money they both have helps I am sure.

Can’t they sue and escalate this? Is that not the goal?

I mean, this church has fundamentally changed many people’s philosophies and lives. It’s not just a loophole, it a legitimate philosophy with beliefs and community… a religion, with a notable following, a protected niche absolutely as the founders intended even with all their awful biases.

Are you the real Satan or just one of those phony mall Satans?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Ouch. Mall Satan. Since so many malls have gone down, it isn’t much of a market anymore.

All of a sudden freedom of religion is gonna disappear real fast

It's only a matter of time until we read Gorsuch giving a history and tradition argument that references the Salem witch trials as proof that the first amendment was only meant to be read as applying to Christianity. Thomas will file a concurrence nobody asked for explaining the legal basis for 'internment' camps for non believers with a footnote claiming that trial by drowning is totally legal actually.

You can donate to the Satanic Temple (which doesn’t promote satanism, but does do this important work of fighting theocracy) online. I urge anyone who cares about this stuff to throw them a few bucks if you can.
