Mooooooooooooooooom, Endmaker is spoiling the manga!
If I remember correctly, this is the first time we have seen Phrase. So, it is confirmed now that she is in charge of the Special Forces of Magic as well as feeding intel about the shadow warriors to the Continental Magic Association, as well as Serie's former student. She seems to be playing every side but the Shadow Warrior side, so I don't have high hopes for Gorilla Warrior's chances here. I am also guessing that this interfering with Serie's magic detection is also due to Phrase. Perhaps they are even in touch in some way since they are former master/student.
Finally, this whole plan seems insane to me. Kill Serie to get rid of magic? They do know that more people than Serie know magic, right? Hell, some of the Shadow Warriors were using magic. Plus, humans employed magic to fight back against the demons. That was kind of Flamme and Frieren's whole thing back in the day. Do they think the demons are going to give up magic? Has enough time gone by that they don't remember the history?
Kill Serie to get rid of magic?
Given how well-written the manga is, they would surely have a believable explanation for this. Let's wait and see.
