Uhm, okay... that is seen as "World News" worthy here? Pretty sad, I think.

OK, I'm trying not to use amazon as much as possible but are these shopping days actually interesting ?
You shouldn't care if they're "interesting", or offer a "good deal", or any other such nonsense Amazon uses to try to convince you this is acceptable. You should avoid Amazon altogether, but even if you won't, you should protest these events by purposefully avoiding doing business with them during this time.
In a vacuum, yearly sales/shopping events don't cause much of an issue. The issue comes in with how Amazon operates these events. For a period of time beforehand, workers' workload is steadily increased to prepare for the event. During the period of the event, the workload is astronomical. All of this is for no extra pay, by the way, and with the same level of punishment for falling short of the ridiculous expecations. Hearing from Amazon workers, the Prime sales days are the absolute hardest days of the entire year, primarily physically as it takes a toll on the body, but also mentally. This ties in to the horrible conditions in the warehouses where working normal hours is already hard on the body and mind.
Amazon’s allegedly “dangerous and illegal” warehouses spur Senate probe
I care whether it's interesting or not to understand if this kind of stuff in completely fabricated or if there are actually really lower prices for the consumer. I am aware of the situation at Amazon hence why I try to avoid it as much as possible.
No thanks.
