Little overnighter in Belgium before it gets too cold, wet and dark. Forgot my filters and didn't feel like cooking cowboy coffee, sitting in a Café now, getting some caffeine in :) Sunshine, beautiful autumn forest.

Last this year. The short days and rain that will keep me from going. Down to freezing at night would be OK.

But who knows, maybe the autumn will give more opportunities, was like 20°C later in the day, T-shirt time, so nice.

I feel you

I was mostly just joking lol

I'm hoping to get out a few more times myself, but I'd wager the winter weather is much milder where I am, though it occasionally dips to -20c during bad storms.

Hopefully you'll get super lucky and have a few days of great weather!

Where did you end up going? I think I'll head out next Thursday, probably around viroinval.

Haute fagnes area, Hertogenwald. Quite some people out today, no wonder, what a lovely day it is.

Hope the weather stays nice for a bit and you get out too!

Thanks for sharing, it looks very peaceful. Did the newly dropped leaves let you see anything that you've missed before?

Damn. Either I'm not getting some reference or you're a fantastic poet.

I arrived at the spot in the dark, so the morning was giving me a new view.

I am not sure if I get this right, but I intend to go back there and I have been a bunch of times. Spot is an official bivouac spot, although there are no facilities there, just camping allowed. It is nice for me to start in the afternoon and have a safe spot to get out to.

Used to be camp fires allowed there but I guess it got out of hand, no more. This morning I also saw a bunch of tissues lying around, and a big bag of trash, even though you're supposed to take it all with you. Bummer. I hope they won't close these spots down completely, I don't get people. I mean they must be some outdoor people too, what are they doing.

Last camp of the year is always special. I may have had my last last weekend but if the weather hold I can probably squeeze in another. Where I am (southern Sweden) night temperatures are still well above 5C so for me very much camping weather.

I'm jealous lol we had our last camping days early/mid October, as 5C is our current daytime high 😅 Western Canada

I'll be taking my Scouts out mid-December, that'll be our last of the year. That'll be fun.
