How do you watch downloaded movies/TV shows on your TV without WiFi or bluetooth? My trusty WDTV media drive is no longer supported by my new Mac, so I can't update the files. (zerobytes.monster)

I have an old WDTV media drive that works great as a plug & play device, but my newer Mac laptop no longer allows me to connect to the drive to update the files. Any advice for a newer plug & play device, or a way to get the old WDTV to connect to my new Mac? I want to use this at my mom's cabin, where we have no internet or cell service. TV has HDMI inputs. Thanks for any advice!
