I feel to maximize growth:

  • Post daily at a time when most people are on Lemmy.
  • Always try to include an interesting picture with the post. If you're sharing a URL, sometimes a thumbnail doesn't show or is uninteresting. In these cases, find a better picture and use that and move the URL to the body of the post.
  • Shamelessly plug the community every chance you get. Speaking of which, [email protected]

What’s the best time to post?

When I made this post 😁 but it's a guess based on my experience. I don't know if there's a way to see stats of when most people are on Lemmy.

Thanks! What time zone is this? It doesn’t seem to specify.

Should be yours. It updates live, so it's always the last 24 hours no matter what that is.

You can edit the time range, too, if you like, or show just the stats of a certain instance.

Probably when Europe / US are still awake

Thats great! I'm not personally interested in the topic, but I do love me some fediverse growth!

Now you need to make sure you have regular content. Good luck!

In my app, you can add an alternate picture that will replace the url picture. Can you do that on other platforms?

Edit: oh yeah, also great post! Thanks for doing your part!

Is this possible to do on the webUI?

A lot of sites aren't properly scrapped for the heading image, but I can't seem to set a custom one when using the default webUI.

It's possible on the web ui site version 0.19.4.

Lemmyworld is still on 0.19.3

Interesting.

Looking forward to the update, this is a much needed feature if you post a lot, since image scrapping simply doesn't work.

Cheers!

If that's urgent for you, you might consider opening an account on lemm.ee or lemmy.zip, both on 0.19.5

Lemmyworld are planning to wait until 0.19.6 which isn't going to be released any time soon

I suggest it anyway since .world is the default instance and, last I checked, too bloated.

Maybe there's a way and I haven't figured it out :) Thank you for your encouraging words!!
