A foreign national alleged to have poured boiling coffee on a baby boy in a Brisbane park last month fled the country as little as 12 hours before investigators could confirm his identity, police say.

The nine-month-old was seriously burned in the attack at Stones Corner on August 27 as he sat with his mum on a picnic rug, with another mother and her baby, and has undergone multiple surgeries.

This whole story is very strange. A person who has been to the country multiple times over five years and is trained in countersurveillance (according to police, grain of salt) just decides one day to scald a random infant with coffee and flee the country? I'd be very interested to get further details if there are ever any discovered. In the meantime, I hope the baby's recovery goes well.

People snap sometimes we had a coworker who was pretty nice but had this thing with people talking loudly. One day he just went nuts and screamed at an engineer and tech who were talking then he walked out to his car. The tech panicked thinking he was going to get a weapon so he ran to hr who came with security to walk out that guy. He already knew what was going to happen since he had already come back and packed up his things

Maybe it's a time traveller and the baby is the next Hitler.

OK, that was tasteless, I'll see myself out...
