I mean didn't cowboys and samurai overlap on the timeline of history?

That's why the joke is funny. Because it's literally true, but no American would other their culture that way

Are you kidding? I can't speak for anyone else, but I think the overlap between the two is awesome!

I overlapped on the timeline of your mom

Very true, your and her are both alive at the same time period in history. I'm so glad you understood my original comment!

How is droving cows to market being an itinerant warrior? Have I been mistaken about what cowboys do?

I'm pretty sure someone gets shot in almost every episode of Rawhide, it's as reliable as the barechested shot.

Also "cowboy" is often used generally for Western shows. Paladin (Have Gun Will Travel) is explicitly "a knight without armor in a savage land." 🎶

And the Rifleman is a small rancher with cows and boy. Don't mess with his boy!

Accurate documentaries, all.

I'm on a roll for barely related memory commenting lately.

Your post reminded me of an interaction with my brother years ago.

We were driving over this bridge that doubles as parking, and saw a mid 50s man in overalls and a hat, clearly a farmer, getting out of a beat up pick up truck. With him was a young 20 something boy, dressed in chic clothing, and very tight skinny jeans, with lots of bracelets.

I had just come out of the closet a few weeks earlier, and had explained some of the terminology to my brother a few days prior.

As we drive past my brother goes: look! A farmer and his Twink! ... Did I get that right?

I bout died

Hahaha!

Don't mess with his Twink!

We still sometimes references it, normally to the tune of farmer in the dell. Lol

Remember when kids used to play "cowboys and Indians"?

[–] eestileib 11 points 2 months ago

They were an itinerant pastoral class though.

They trample vegetation with their ATVS

So, now their fucking with the ghost of Johnny Appleseed

And he's a charitable spirit, but not so Christlike

That he wouldn't take his tin pot hat to their windpipe.
