I'm new in the Linux world.

I installed mint on my PC and have a live stick with Kali on it. like it so far.

Linux Mint is the 💣. It just works. Others may have some neat options or other benefits like rolling releases, but Mint is so hassle free.

I'm looking forward to trying nobara on the frame.work 16" when I get it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

What’s Nobara’s shtick? I haven’t actually heard of it before I think

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

It's a Fedora based distro by glorious eggroll, the person who maintains things like GE-Proton the fork of valves proton that sometimes has important fixes that make some games work that otherwise don't

Tbh though sense I posted that I've been going back and forth in my head about weather I should use that on the framework when I get it, or instead use bazzite (another fedora gaming fork)

kde neon is love kde neon is life

i love a desnapped ubuntu with rolling release DE

I think Nobara is coded with some kind of black magic spells that probably required sacrifices of infants. It makes games actually work 😱

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

I don't even know that many distros. 🥺

  1. Linux

Y'all are fancy with your bloat, but I'm a purist. GNU nothing. There's no GNU here. I use only the kernel. Distros, desktop environments,... that's all bloat. Keep blowing money to upgrade your hard drives and RAM. All I need is the cache.

bro you spent money or a motherboard and a cpu? just do it like me and connect wires randomly till stuff starts workin

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

UwUntu all the way babyyy

Arch. It's the only one I really liked out of all the distro I've tried, the others went from meh/not-my-thing to awful (really bad manjaro experince x_x). Except Nobara, it's amazing for gaming EVERYTHING JUST WORKS. And I still ditched it after trying Arch... I should probably see a therapist. My ADHD: Nope, you need to try NixOS and sink even further into the madness (I've been resisting for nearly two months but it's wearing me down, plz send help :/ )
