The old dude being a Trump supporter doesn't automatically make it politically motivated. Possible for sure - Americans do have a history of killing Nazis - but this could also be something like texting while driving and running the dude over due to sheer obliviousness.

The suicide makes me think it's something like the latter... if the driver was out for blood, actually getting it wouldn't push him to kill himself.

It says in the article that the driver had been linked to other "politically motivated" cases, which is why he was a suspect. Also he was driving an ATV. I don't think this is a distracted driving situation.

I beg to differ. It's quite common for people to fail to grasp the ramifications of their actions in the heat of the moment. I'd like to think that any person who drove an ATV over an 80 year old man would have some kind of emotional remorse in the aftermath, even if they did it intentionally. Traumatic injuries of that sort are difficult to witness, let alone perpetrate.
