The linked article provides further links to media report in several European languages.

- Most political parties in Europe rely heavily on state subsidies, but not in Germany where they get hundreds of millions of euros from private individuals and companies.

- For only three out of every 10 euros European political parties receive from individuals and companies the name of the donor is made public. This means that 660 million euros is unaccounted for.

- Populist, far-right and far-left political parties receive a quarter of all the private funding, showing that with more political power also comes more money. That’s what Follow the Money, in collaboration with newsrooms from across Europe, collected and scrutinised to get a comprehensive insight into how much money goes to political parties in Europe for the very first time.

What unknown beneficiary would stand to gain by political unrest in Europe?

His name is rumored to be something between a French whore and the Canadian national dish.

Ok why do european countries even let political parties have private funding? This really feels like a "you all should fucking know better!" kinda deal

In the end, most of those donations speak Russian.

And who gets the remaining 75%?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

All the remaining parties in the center. But of course it's no problem when such a party gets millions from a corporation and then is a bit nicer toward them with any policies.

Am I just not finding it or is there no link to the actual report?

The report has two parts:

You need to register for reading the articles (but don't need to pay). If you don't want to register, you can use 12ft.io (the archive doesn't appear to eliminate the registration).

In addition, you see a list of reports by media outlets from across Europe in multiple languages.

Huge mystery where they're coming from... really nobody even has a good guess.

Could be from the Kremlin, could be from the Kremlin through a 3rd party. Hell, it could even be from the Kremlin.
