Sorry for making you post this, rikka.

I struggle to truly comprehend the fact that an omegaverse anime is actually broadcasting onto televisions in real life - what a world we live in. Now, BL is absolutely my genre, but omegaverse is not, so if I may gripe on that for a moment: What is the point? This setting seems to get rid of homophobia (in part by introducing mpreg), but then reintroduce it another form via prejudice against alpha/omega pairings? Why not just have a couple discriminated against for being gay? This is the sort of stuff that always makes omegaverse feel fetishy instead of actually interested in telling queer stories.

As for the content, though, It's actually a lot more focused on cute kid antics, which I wasn't expecting. It reminds me most of Gakuen Babysitters. Not really my thing, but I'm sure there are others who would have a nice time. That is, if you can live with the bits where the omegaverse stuff slips back in (or if that sweetens the deal for you - I'm not here to judge).

Honestly, I was expecting far worse. 2/5

ETA: I think it's interesting that they didn't take any time to explain the premise of the omegaverse setting. They probably figure the audience will already be familiar, but for those who aren't it seems like a very strange thing to skip over, lol.

Oh wow, I didn't realize there was an entire male pregnancy/mpreg genre out there.

Or even what an omega male is, for that matter, let alone omegaverse..

I thought the "omega male" character was FtM trans.

It can definitely be read as a trans allegory sometimes, but ya, omegaverse has a reasonably complex set of lore associated with it. It originates from western fanfiction communities, particularly the Supernatural fandom, and was originally associated with werewolves, so there's a lot of animalistic mating behavior in there. If you want to know more it has a pretty in-depth Wikipedia page

Oh God. I saw the synopsis of Gigguk's rundown of the season and thought this was just some wanna-be edgelord mucking up the synopsis. I never thought the actual anime would be this omegaverse stuff. I never even heard of this before Gigguk's video and yet it sounds like this is an actual anime now.
