For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

The best part is that tweet was appended with a fact check saying myocarditis is far more likely if you get COVID.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’ve been told the fact check was removed.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

Yep. Can’t have facts getting in the way of Elon’s madness.

Birdwatch is Twitter's best feature in years

...Xwatch? Xatch?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

It'll be Xoffenders.

We cannot ascribe every murder to Elon Musk but by the same token we cannot ascribe none.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

The only question is if his victims are few or many.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

We cannot ascribe every Tesla accident to Autopilot, but by the same token we cannot ascribe none.

Would be super cool if Musk suffered cardiac arrest.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

I don't know his health levels, but he does take Ozempic, which can cause stomach paralysis which leads to excessive vomiting and I'd be all for Elon having to constantly puke.

Maybe with the experience he can properly identify if his statement was not true or bullshit

Not exactly a scientific view he is espousing here. There could be dozens of risk factors that this person has, and Elron would not know about them. He is just such a moron, too - what he said is his usual pretentious mishmash and it means absolutely nothing.

"Could be the vaccine, but maybe not, we don't know if the vaccine does this a lot, or not". Wow, thanks, smartest guy on the planet.

It's not scientific, but it sounds scientific, which is exactly how all anti-science conspiracy theories start and grow.

Imagine it's a warm July day and a car is discovered off the side of a road with the driver dead from the impact. Two people discover the car.

Man: "He might've hit a patch of ice."

Woman: "But it's July! It's very unlikely there was any ice on the road. It's much more likely something else caused the crash."

Man: "I may not have any evidence he did hit ice, but ice is indeed slippery and can cause crashes, so we have just as much evidence he hit a patch of ice as we have for something else causing the accident."

Woman: "You're an idiot."

It's entirely possible something extraordinary happened and there was ice on the road, but acting like it's just as likely as any other explanation is absurd.

Musk is literally claiming having no evidence makes all causes equally likely. I guess if I just never check my bank account, it's just as likely I have a trillion dollars as a thousand dollars.

Oh, I'm well aware of the absurdity of his statement, but someone who already believes vaccines are bad will read Elon's tweet once, understand barely enough of it to realize that it's in line with their beliefs, then spread it to everyone they know.

[–] Zeppo 4 points 1 year ago

Perhaps a villain came and spread water on the road, then chilled it with liquid nitrogen - the driver, not expecting ice, skidded to his death. Then the murder weapon melted and evaporated! We'll never know for sure.

He's even dumber than that. He's not just saying "could be the vaccine, could be not"; he's literally saying "you can't say it's the vaccine and you can't say it's not."

He's managed to say less than nothing.

He's managed to say less than nothing.

To any sane logical person, but a lot of people aren't sane or logical and will glean whatever conspiracy nonsense they want.

I didn’t realize dog whistles sound so stupid

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

That's because you're not a dog :) congrats you passed the test!

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 year ago

That's the context of that Tweet? What the actual fuck is wrong with this dude? How does he think that is in any way an appropriate response?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

1/9000 people have this condition.... that's a lot. This isn't uncommon, but social media has made it more publicized.
