If there’s a Holy Grail on Mars, it’s probably a specific type of rock: A rock so important that it holds convincing clues to Mars’ ancient habitability.

Perseverance might have just found it.

It does look like a yellow stone in the pictures...

Anyway, I had not previously realized that there is intent on Perseverance returning to earth.

Perseverance itself isn't returning, but it does collect sample canisters that could be. The canisters would need to be transferred to some future mission currently named "Mars Sample Return"

So, essentially, their plan is to land something in more or less the same place? Or have another aerial flyer? I need to read more, this is exciting.
