I have yet to watch the final episode, but nobody can accuse this series of being short on ideas. This show often felt like 3-4 different shows at any given point and couldn't make up its mind. I didn't dislike this show, but I can't say I loved it either. Depending on what else is airing that season, I might be swayed to give it a watch, but I probably won't go too far out of my way for it.

I'll just say that in the last 2 episodes, the show goes back to doing what it did best.

If they can stay away from, or at least shorten, things like the dreadful and overly-long Marc-san saga, I'll keep watching it.

It's the name of Sasaki's pet bird pouring the champagne in the visual. A literal pet name.

Maybe the Japanese Pii-chan sounds too much like English slang for urination, i.e. to pee, for English stream services' liking.

The one in this show isn't even the first P-chan that I know of in anime: This character from Ranma 1/2 https://ranma.fandom.com/wiki/Ryoga_Hibiki has a cute pig form that's nicknamed P-chan (see Nicknames in the sidebar).

It sounds like this type of name might be common Japanese practice for naming pet animals, although I don't recall any other characters using other letter-chans for pet names, like I can't recall a Z-chan, or a N-chan, for example.

I thought that P-chan was a pun from English "pigeon"

I like that theory! This is now my head-canon whether it is true or not.

Wait this had an anime? I read like 2 chapters of the mango and never saw it updated since.

Season 1 just ended this Friday.

If you want to watch it, I'd recommend skipping episodes 7-10.

That sounds like too many episodes to be the dreaded 'recap of the episodes I just saw with the actors narrating how their characters felt about each scene'

I was trying to have you avoid what I call the Marc-san story arc.

I found those episodes boring, and they tested my resolve to keep watching this show.

I can't imagine what that would be, but these days I wouldn't be surprised to have the same difficulty. Way back when, I had the mental fortitude to watch Conan including filler all the way to the who is bourbon part. Now I can't even believe it. The episode where the criminal made actual crying baby sounds when caught was the most legendary filler though and I wouldn't trade that for the world.
