The Kremlin really do everything in their power to be as evil as possible. I know this is ‘just’ a building and that thousands have lost their lives, including one more civilian this time, but why bomb a UNESCO Heritage Site?…

They want to deliberately erase Ukrainian culture and replace it with their own.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Its funny because their cultures and heritage are so intertwined its pretty much the same.

Well except for russia being devoid of any culture anymore. Its a slimy, gray, smelly blob of sad.

So in just the last week the Kremlin terrorists have attacked food, hospital sites, and an apartment building.

Ereasing a culture huh?, This reminds a certain person

Just one? Off the top of my head there's Hitler, Mao, Taliban if you don't want to limit to just individuals, Turkey in 1960s, CCP with what they're doing to Uyghurs.

Building is nothing. Human lives is everything. Even one death is more than enough for our bloody "leader" to rot in hell.
Sincerely yours, Russian fellow.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

You are right about that. I would add that non-human lives are also valuable. I especially believe animal suffering is terrible, ours and others. We are enough to help humankind and also repair injustices to and help other beings.

What I wanted to comment is that I felt this image intensely because it is kind of symbolic. It represents the beauty we are capable of, the way we can be brought together by beliefs and dreams, all destroyed by greediness, selfishness, and unnecessary violence. It is tragic. It is not the value of the building itself, which is debatable, but this I explained.

Sorry if my English is weird.

If the world ever goes to war on Russia, let this be a reminder of how low the bar stands when we're shoving their own medicine down their throats

They dont make that link. They have been using cluster ammo for 18 months now but cry since Ukraine has started to use it as well. Pathetic little mindset these people have.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 year ago

The cluster munition attack with the highest known civilian casualties occurred on April 8, 2022, when Russia launched a Tochka-U ballistic missile equipped with a cluster munition warhead at a crowded train station in the eastern city of Kramatorsk as hundreds of people were trying to leave the area. A detailed Human Rights Watch investigation found that the attack killed at least 58 civilians and injured over 100 others.

Very sad. I have been to Odessa often before the 2022 war, and the city was spared major attacks for so long. But I guess that's over now :(

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Before the Russian invasion, I'd always thought Ukraine was a beautiful country. Never been to either country, while I did notice similarities in the architecture and culture, they still had distinct enough flourishes that set them apart. Really, destroying holy sites and places of worship is a very dirty move in warfare. Doing such destroys morale. This cathedral looks like an immaculate place to visit while it was in tact. I hope places like it can be restored soon.

Lucky person, I haven't see Odessa
