I am seeking a new fragrance/quality in my aftershave lotion/splash. I have tried the traditional ones like Brut, Aqua Velva, Old Spice, and Nivea Men.

I don't want to go overboard but I would be happy to try something a bit more pricy.

I live in the USA.

Cereve thick cream in the pump tub. Great at moisturizing.

This is going to sound insane, but about six months ago, I started using 91% isopropyl alcohol as aftershave lotion, and my skin has never been clearer.

Once it is evaporated, I spray on a nice eu de parfum like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille or Creed Aventus.

I have to preface this by saying my facial hair is not substantial in the slightest, like I can skip a day or two and look pretty cleanshaven, so I'm aware my shaving situation isn't quite standard. But... What part of that regimen rehydrates or protects your skin after? Shaving scrapes away a lot of the oil, the alcohol and scent will get the rest, no? Me, I need moisturiser after shaving like coconut oil. How is your skin not either jetting sebum out your pores or dry as parchment?

I have no idea. My partner thought I was nuts, but has come to admit that it seems to work for me.

Duc de Santal by Henri et Victoria is pretty amazing

You may laugh, but I buy an CAN$8 light blue, squeezy bottle of Gillette after shave lotion/gel. I think I sometimes buy it from Walmart, so you may be able to get it south of the border. I have eczema so I can only use lotion/gel, not a splash liquid. I love how this gel feels and I love its scent.

I was somewhat partial to Thayer’s Witch hazel. L’Occitane makes an aftershave called Cade (made with juniper essential oil). I used that one extensively too.

I do use Thayer's Witch Hazel as my night time face moisturizer. But never tried it as an aftershave.

Maggard Razors sells aftershave samples from different manufacturers. You could buy a few different ones and see what you like.

I really like Barrister and Mann's stuff: https://maggardrazors.com/collections/pre-post-shave/products/barrister-and-mann-artisan-shaving-soap-and-aftershave-samples

Chiseled Face is reputable but I don't care for their marketing. People speak very highly of Henri et Victoria but I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks, I will try these.

For aftershave splash I use Calvin Klein Eternity, which is also the cologne I use. This is if I want a nice smell with it.

I generally prefer to use unscented product though. Just normal Cereve after shaving if I think I didn't cut myself, then I can use my choice of cologne afterwards. But my beard isn't as thick as others. If you have a stubborn beard, I think you might need to stick to either the splash or balm. Calvin Klein also has a nice smelling balm, but it is a bit pricier than the ones you listed.

I think you will have to experiment a bit. I don't have just one aftershave or cologne. I have my favourite and then I get a smaller sample to experiment with. Scent is very personal, what you like might be very different to someone else. As well as facial products, what works for me might lead to a breakout for you.
