In the sidebar, I see some words highlighted in green saying "Guarantor literature.cafe" and "Endorsements 2"

literature.cafe is another lemmy instance, and "guarantor" seems to be some kind of concept to do with ~~lemmyspace~~ the fediverse chain of trust.

Okay, I think I've found the answer: It's to do with how the fediverse makes sure servers are added using a chain of trust, and to quickly disconnect rogue/spam servers: https://dbzer0.com/blog/overseer-a-fediverse-chain-of-trust/

Yep, you figured it out. You can check out the fediseer gui here if you are curious about other instances that use it. From that, you can see that the two endorsements come from literature.cafe and bookwormstory.social. Thanks lemmy bros!

You can also see from that page what led to lemmy.world and db0 defederating from this instance. There was a censure placed and then it rippled through other instances that automate their instance blocklists based on fediseer. Fortunately in that case, @[email protected] was what is known in the industry as "a total pro" and got it sorted out soon enough.

The ml admins on the other hand....well, I'm not holding my breath.
