"This overseas merchant with weird pet accidentally trafficed me to another world and now I need to find the place for myself" - the anime

Another whacky episode with straight up worse decision than attacking russia in winter. I lost it where they reused the window shot with clouds png sliding through.

I don't know what to expect but I like it that way.

This show continues to be weird. It is a mix of so many different genres that you never know what is coming next, including the production.

We get an isekai episode this week! I had been hoping we might find out more about that other mage that Peeps fought in the sky. Instead we get the king of the nation being a complete idiot. "Let's have all the children fight over the throne! What could go wrong?" It's comically dumb. What better situation to breed collaboration with hostile entities? I kind of wish that Sasaki would just up and leave the kingdom that he is in, but I understand that Peeps feels an attachment to it (for some reason, didn't they banish and/or kill him, I don't remember).

In any case, this episode featured a lot of political stuff that I just don't really care that much about. I also got the feeling that there is probably much more content and more complete explanations for what is going on in the source novels. A lot of this episode went in one ear and out the other for me. I got the main points I think, but don't quiz me.

The ending should prove fun. I was hoping that there might be more mingling of the two worlds he is living in. Up until now, he had mostly been able to keep them separate, but Elsa has forced his hand.

Yes, when your country is in risk of entering a war with a neighbor, have a civil war to further weaken itself first. Dumb-ass king.

A merchant getting himself unnecessarily politically involved? And the way he executed it, personally framing his vice manager who as far as we know has shown him no disloyalty nor ambition. So being the head of a company is also, just like in real life, not an indication of intelligence.

I think Elsa sneaked into the chest because she thought Sasaki was going to use it to rescue Marc? It was some Amazon-esque oversized chest too, having so much empty space to hold an extra person.

I guess Sasaki can still recover by sending Elsa back immediately, she hasn't seen much of Japan. Somebody mentioned though that time flows differently between the two worlds so some more time has passed in isekai.

she thought Sasaki was going to use it to rescue Marc

This makes a lot of sense. I was wondering what caused her to do something like this and just decided to not think too hard about it in a show as silly as this. But this explanation makes sense because they were just talking about how Sasaki and her father are both trying their best to save him.

time flows differently between the two worlds

They made a point in a previous episode to mention this, but also that it was varying and unstable now for some reason. I wonder if there is now a manhunt going on for Elsa and Sasaki is a suspected kidnapper. Though, knowing the Viscount, he probably trusts Sasaki enough to know that he wouldn't do something like that (at least intentionally).

Yes, I also found the political stuff nonsensical and boring. I had to walk away from this in the middle, and finish it later.

Hopefully next week will be better.
