Perfect, just what I was looking for. I asked ChatGPT this:

Write a termination letter for Spez, CEO of Reddit

Mr. Steve Huffman (aka Spez)
CEO of Reddit, Inc.
1455 Market St #1600
San Francisco, CA 94103

Subject: Termination of Your Position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reddit, Inc.

Dear Mr. Huffman,

We hope this letter finds you well. The purpose of this communication is to discuss a significant decision taken by the Board of Directors of Reddit, Inc.

After extensive deliberation, it has been decided to terminate your position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Reddit, Inc., effective immediately. This decision is the result of multiple rounds of evaluation and strategic assessment of the company’s current position and future objectives.

Throughout your tenure as CEO, your contributions have been invaluable and have driven the company's growth in many ways. You have brought creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of our community that has helped shape Reddit into what it is today.

However, at this juncture, the Board has determined that a change in leadership is necessary to fulfill our strategic objectives and to bring a fresh perspective to our operation.

We sincerely thank you for your dedication, hard work, and the significant contributions you have made to Reddit. We will ensure a smooth transition process and kindly request your cooperation in this matter. Details regarding your termination benefits and any other company-related procedures will be forwarded to you separately.

We wish you all the best for your future endeavors and are confident that you will bring value and dedication to whatever you pursue next.

This is cathartic.

I wouldn’t want to write that stuff either. Offloading it to a bot seems like it would help me get through the day. That being said. Fuck HR. They exist to protect the company from its employees.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Company wouldn't have employees without HR though, sadly

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I run a small business and employ around 20 to 30 people, we do just fine without HR. Obviously in large businesses it’s different

That being said, ultimately HR are just delivering the message of someone else, there isn’t really any reason to put blame on them. Although they are easy targets

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yea, the company I work for has over 200 people. I work with HR quite a lot and they are just the messagers most of the time.

[–] Unused_neurons 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why can’t the people with the message deliver the message?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Because that's how the company works. HR has to talk to, for example, social benefits (money the state gives to people who don't have a job because they are either unable to or fled from a war zone. HR calls the state to handle everything so you don't have to.

Another example is if you want a week (or more) off. You can just tell HR and they will do everything for you.

Heck, you can even tell them someone is bothering you and it will be resolved for you.

you must work in HR and want to be a part of peoples solutions. I appreciate you’re trying to be an agent of good.

That's OK, I using it to do my Performance Review...

Can we ask chat gpt to summarize what hr says down to the prompt then too? Cut though all the bs

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe this is coming across as critical because it's being singled out among hundreds of other professions and HR professionals aren't highly respected, but the idea isn't at all surprising. It is interesting to see the productivity gains though.

Let's try not to make this reddit 2.0.

The following text consists of a conversation about HR (Human Resources) within a company. One person expresses frustration towards HR, stating that they exist to protect the company from its employees. Another person acknowledges the necessity of HR for larger companies but shares that their small business operates without it. They also mention that HR is often just delivering messages and shouldn't be solely blamed. Another participant agrees, mentioning that in their company, HR primarily acts as messengers. Someone else adds that while HR may not be highly respected, the idea of offloading work to a bot is not surprising and highlights the potential productivity gains. Finally, someone suggests using Chat GPT to summarize HR's statements and cut through the "bs" (presumably unnecessary information).
