So when do we start doing everything we can to crush corporations?

1/5 star title

The thing is that these employees aren’t employees of McDonald’s corporation or Burger King corporation or whatever; they are employees of the local franchisee - which has a far different cost and profit model than the large corporation (which just sells franchise licenses, and collects royalties).

your anger is misplaced and you’re misunderstanding the market if you are thinking “McDonald’s makes billions of dollars a year, they should pay their line workers more.”

If they can't afford to pay a living wage they can't afford to own a franchise, sorry they suck at business?

maybe the argument should be that McDonald’s and Burger King need to reduce franchise and royalty fees.

Well the argument is fair pay for work, fuck McDonald's if they and their franchisees can't afford that, other entrepreneurs can make new businesses that can.

So its only a problem when its minorities and women?

[–] papertowels@lemmy.one 4 points 1 year ago

Another POV: why are minorities and women found so often in these jobs, which your comment suggests are bad?

It really is starting to feel that way.

Cuz white men are too complicit to actually fight for a new union.
