Contact your relevant union, not Reddit. That’s what they are for.

Sadly, I don’t know about Danish unions and was expecting someone would let me know where i can connect with them .

I don't know if the unions are willing to help, since you weren't a member when the incident happened. But you could try to contact them anyway. Just search "fagforening" on google. Krifa, 3F, Det Faglige Hus, FOA etc. are some of the biggest unions. Try and contact them. It's your best shot at getting an answer.

Krifa, Det Faglige Hus,

We’d need to know information about what job you’re working to answer that question which you haven’t provided. Google is also an option of course.

Did you tell them you wouldn't be showing up after getting injured?
godisasatyromaniac (OP) at 2024-02-07 17:54:38+00:00 ID: kpd0dyr

I hope you are a member of a union. If so, contact them. Also, no pension?
If you're an hourly wage employee, I'm not sure if you're eligible for sick leave from your employer. You're not eligible for sick leave from your kommune, as you haven't worked for minimum 240 hours in the last 6 months. That's what borger.dk says.
themicisfree at 2024-02-07 18:39:00+00:00 ID: kpd8ecp
Point 6.2 and 6.3 says you are eligible for sick leave pay. Have you worked more than 78 hours 8 weeks prior to your sick leave, you are eligible for sick leave pay according to Funktionærloven. But since you are not a member of a union, I guess you are on your own to fight that battle, sadly. Edit: Most likely it's the municipality that has to pay for your sick leave if you are sick for more than 14 days.

I have indeed worked for more than 78 hours 8 weeks prior to my sick leave.
I don’t meet the municipality’s criteria of working for 5 months to be eligible for sick leave pay.

Op is hourly paid not governed by funktionærloven

All answers here are wrong. What is your job description? We can not guide you without knowing what you do.

Then you do probably not have the right to your ordinary salary when sick. From what I can read in your contract there is no "overenskomst" regulating the employment and you are not a "funktionær".
This means that you are eligable for sygedagpenge (also stated in the contract) if you fulfil sygedagpengelovens criteria for these. The first 30 days are usually paid for by the employer. The criteria:
"Det kræver dog, at du har været ansat hos din arbejdsgiver uafbrudt i de seneste otte uger før fraværet. I denne periode skal du have været beskæftiget i mindst 74 timer."
Edit: so if this is the case, your employer is obliged by law to pay you sygedagpenge.
If you do not fulfil this, then you can possibly have the right to sygedagpenge via the municipality.
You can read more here:
The correct union is 3F - you should contact them asap.

If you have a union contact them, if not contact your municipality.
Sick pay can be complicated. There is "løn under sygdom" paid by the employer and "sygedagepenge" paid by the A-kasse or municipality.
When you are hourly paid, there can be criteria to be met before you are eligible for pay during sick leave by your employer -"løn under sygdom". Usually hourly paid employees do not receive løn under sygdom unless stated in the contact. Some places require f.x. up to 6-9 months employment for this. This is stated in an agreement, assuming the work place has one, and should be easily documented or stated in the contract.
Then there is "sygedagpenge" and that is mentioned in sygedagpengeloven that they refer to in the contract. 1. Either you qualify through your A-kasse (must be a member etc) and here certain criteria have to be met or 2. you qualify through the municipality and here certain criteria have to met, such as the amount of hours that you have worked within the last six months. So based on this, you may or may not qualify, as you either have to be a member of a union and meet the criteria or meet the criteria for municipality.

Be careful with getting paid through goverment instances. Your resident papers state you are not to be a burden financially and statsforvaltningen will cancel your residency
