There were news or gossips of:

  1. Them cutting import of Ecuadorian bananas.
  2. Because bananas are now imported from India.
  3. Because oil and gas companies have problems processing payments in indian money and exchange them so they take them in a form of products while cutting exports.

That may be the initial reason why they blame Ecuador now. They slow down their economical ties with them. So they feel free to make it also a political statement.

I don't know how true it is, so double check it.
