I’m a senior in high school but technically i’ve only been in physical school since sophomore year due to freshman year covid. I currently have an abundance of girl-friends who I love very much but I haven’t made a single guy-friend my entirety of high school.

I’m not sure why, but guys never ever approach me whether it’s platonically or romantically. I’ve tried approaching them too, but it’s like they forget about me a second later.

Personally I think I’m not hideous, or at least i’m not as hideous as i used to be in middle school, and my friends describe me as someone with a confident and fun personality.

It only hit me when I saw a tiktok of a guy saying that basically guys only talk to girls that they think are attractive. I kinda brushed this off at first but then I saw more tiktoks of both guys and girls saying the same thing and I think it’s taking a toll on my confidence. I’m feeling insecure and ugly about it and although I feel like i don’t NEED guy friends, at least guys talking to me would give me some validation.

Since i’m going to start college next fall, i’m really hoping that this won’t carry onto my college years and that things will change.

TL;DR: I haven’t made a single guy friend/ guys have never approached me as a girl who’s a senior in HS.
