Hey guys… I’m a 19 year old who’s currently in a program for law enforcement and am coming to the end of my semester in April of ‘24. My goal is to attend BCIT in September of ‘24 and do their 6 month foundation course as I’m really green and virtually have no skills whatsoever.

This leaves me a six month gap between school years and was wanting some advice as to what would be the best to fill that time.

Do you think I should go door knocking at different electrical companies and try to land a role as a labourer/apprentice? Or would I be better off waiting until I attend that program and tackle the apprenticeship once I get done the foundational course so I look more attractive to potential employers?
