I got contacted by a staffing agency that mostly works with government healthcare agencies. They told me to submit some onboarding documents. I got suspicious at first and called the agency, where they told me that NY State requires them to do a background check before submitting clients. I’m not sure if that’s true, nor did the listing demand any specific clearance.

The agency has a website and they did acknowledge applicants’ concerns over giving such data before interviews
