”This order is simply more communist persecution of a supporter of President Trump and a follower of Jesus Christ.”

Back in reality, he was being investigated for his unhinged statements and other complaints with the potential for disbarment in Georgia, and asked the bar there to “retire” his license. They close the investigations and said sure, and you can’t practice law here or anywhere else. Colorado is following the practice of their federal courts, that he’s not allowed to practice law in CO as he’s not in good standing in other jurisdictions.

It's weird how lawyers have such excellent systems of cooperation for this kind of stuff while cops can just move a 20 minute drive away and nobody knows anything about them.

Law is adversarial. You have someone on the other side trying to jam you up, just looking for things to throw in front of you. Police don't have that.

In an email to Colorado Politics, Wood said, "The order is errant nonsense as I am retired and have not practiced law in Colorado in over 20 years. This order is simply more communist persecution of a supporter of President Trump and a follower of Jesus Christ.”

If that’s true… then why does the nutter care?

Also… this persecution complex is fucking next level, even by evangelical standards

"I have been afforded NO due process by the Committee. I have committed no ethical violation and am guilty of no wrongdoing," he wrote.

"Mr. Wood claims that he was 'afforded NO due process,'" the order read, "but he does not explain why his opportunity to respond to the Committee's recommendation is not sufficient due process. Moreover, he asks for no additional process in his response."

Another reason to disbar him. He doesn't know what due process is! If you're making the argument to a judge, there's a good chance that is your due process. Try not to blow it.

In this case he knows perfectly well, he just needs his martyrdom sound bites so he can parlay this into a punditry job on the right-wing media circuit. This is a real career path for these clowns, and a lucrative one. He'll probably run into Vivek Ramaswamy there too.

I mean they currently are claiming this is Biden weaponizing the law even though most of his trials are at the state level. At this point I feel being Trump's lawyer will end in disbarment due to the need to stretch the truth til it snaps to keep trump out of jail .

Excuse me for a moment, Imzadi...

Do you guys remember in The Stand where the last holdouts of good humans all gathered in Boulder to fight back against Satan?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure Randall Flagg is supposed to be the son of Satan.

There is a line where the wise old woman played by Whoopi Goldberg explains how Fran was tempted by him because "he is his father's son."

I can't remember any other explanation in the book or the dark tower series for who he is.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

I always assumed Flagg was the son of the Crimson King. Though the argument could be made that the Crimson King is a metaphor for Satan.

You'd expect them to be at least somewhat compliant with those... what are they called? Guidelines? Laws? Guess you can be an attorney while being an idiot.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Trump's entire legal team is proof intelligence is not needed to be an attorney.

Legit makes me wonder how hard it can possibly be...?
