I am strongly considering joining the local 220 union in DFW however the drive is an hour to the Union hall. I am closer to fort Worth than Dallas and was wondering how picky I could be with jobs that are closer to home as far as signing the book goes. Also I am a journeyman with my experience being mainly residential, although I do know how to bend pipe decently. Would this be an issue on commercial jobs where a lot of it is new to me? I don't want to run into the scenario of people assuming I should know everything because I am a journeyman. Any Union electricians input would be much appreciated.
