Eddie Howe, time to start talking about how we need to respect the refs again.
The Arsenal
I guess PSG’s envelopes were heavier than Newcastle’s.
Refs be like you’re only as good as your next envelope.
Newcastle got absoltuely battered that game lol, 31 shots to 5 4.2 xG before the pen even came in.
That particular call was harsh but they dodged two other pen shouts and were hanging on by a thread, a draw was fortunate if anything.
That PSG pen is absolutely scandalous and Newcastle were totally robbed. Difficult to feel sorry for them after they got sucked off against us though isn't it :)
Chelsea must be real happy they missed out on Barcola, absolute bum
Feel like I’m going crazy seeing all these spurs fans ranting about that Matty Cash challenge. It was a pretty standard yellow card tackle yes it was a little strong but that’s the game. Them making it out to be some horror tackle that should’ve warranted a red is insane behavior.
Every pundit ever should be getting academy awards... it's beyond me how any pundit is able to say that Newcastle play any form of decent football. they absolutely got hammered on everything apart from the score today and it was the same case against us. Who the hell is building this narrative
new trim got ben looking like maddison 😭
it's a shame Isak has to play for them.
Trossard press conference so that must mean he starts tomorrow? I wonder if it'll be in the 8, or on the left in place of Martinelli.
I just hope ppl can be a better man and raise the same noise for VAR failure.
How many Milan players start for us? Maignan, Hernandez and Giroud. Anyone else?
Rice prog passes per 90 - 7
TP last season - 9
Ppl act like one of them is breaking the line 50 times per game and his abscence is why we cant progress properly
You can't win against the Parteycels. No matter how many numbers you bring up, or explain how opponents approach us differently, or suggest we may have even changed our approach, or that a pass through the middle needs a recipient capable of receiving among opposition defenders, they insist that Partey will single-handedly solve the issue.
Personally I’m so excited to hear non stop about the mid gulf state derby tonight. The future of football looks so bright and fair
I am seeing so many bitter and disgruntled posts from Liverpool fans because we dared to win our match on Saturday. It's almost as if it's only they who have the divine right to challenge City.
Their salt in particular is unmatched.
Been dreaming of a Douglas Luiz signing in January since the links returned in the last few weeks. Perfect profile for a midfield addition. Probably not gonna happen the way Villa are going, though
https://x.com/saxon_03/status/1729155971153539505?s=46 He is a cunt but him coming back second half of the season will take us up a level for sure.
Martinelli and Ødegaard’s attacking data this year is a sight for sore eyes. The captain 0.13 xA per 90….There are average players in dead teams putting up better numbers. Saka’s has reduced too but his creative numbers are towards the top. Trossard needs to be starting every game, he is the best performing attacker after Bukayo.
Martinelli has to work on his crossing, that's the main difference between him and Saka right now. He can get past his defender with ease but his crosses are always too wild whereas Saka has at least 3-4 perfect dinks per game.
IDK what happened with Odegaard he looks a shell of himself
While I agree with what you said about Martinelli needing to work on his crossing, part of the blame has to go our CFs as well. For example,in our last UCL game Martinelli was rinsing that RB and putting in crosses; while some of them weren't that great they were made to look even worse from by the lack of movement in the box.Even in our last match,I remember Martinelli looking up and then putting in a cross and no one in the box made any particular movement at all, which made the cross look really bad while it was a pretty good one.I even remember Martinelli giving a perplexed," the fuck you guys doing" kind of look after that.I'm not sure about the timing of this but think it was in the first half.
None of our attackers aren't that tall except Havertz, but there has to be better movement imo.I saw Kai saying in his post match interview how Ode and Saka are always looking for him with their crosses from the right( don't remember the exact words, but it was something along these lines). While Saka is better at crossing than Martinelli is,he has the added advantage that his natural arc/area of crossing generally has someone like Kai on the receiving end,who has natural height advantage, and at the same time has much better movement as compared to Jesus/Eddie.If Martinelli is going to keep spamming crosses from the left,we need better movement from from our forwards to make the most of them.Kai given his position cannot possibly get on the end of Martinelli"s crosses, but maybe White can make some late runs/get into those areas a bit more to create more threats.
TLDR: Martinelli has to improve his crossing, but his crossing is made to look even worse by the lack of good movement from the forwards.
Frimpong available for €40m.
We could play 3 CBs and an attacking overlapping RB
🤔
how is he with crossing? more than an overlapping fb, I think we need somebody who can deliver balls from the half space, especially on the right. Doesn't seem like Odegaard is that guy, so might need it from fullback. Although I'm not sure many fullbacks can do it effectively enough that its worth having that as a consistent strategy, or if that' more just Trent. Would need more of a trent than a cedric.
I guess the idea with an overlapper is that saka could sort of occupy that space more, and he's quite good there, but I do think there's opportunity in the RHS with all the attention that saka gets.
I honestly can’t wait to see if Ange actually will play that suicide attacking style against City, would be so funny! They could concede 6-7 goals
Lee Gunner is a twat.
That is all.
some men have a really toxic relationship with football where they thrive on criticising their team, like that becomes the whole essence of following football to them. Him and his loser fans are like this.
He called Saka and ESR 'Fail End' after a bad performance once. Not a real Arsenal fan.
I miss Matt Turner
Damn what did you do to this sub to get -13 on a harmless comment like this lmao
Personally I am pleased with our depth. We wouldn't be able to field such strong teams with so many players missing last year. On a separate note it's still weird to think Rob Holding isn't a part of the squad anymore. Contradictory thoughts lol but it's what it's
