MODERATORS

I run a few groups, like @[email protected], mostly on Friendica. It's okay, but Friendica resembles Facebook Groups more than Reddit. I also like the moderation options that Lemmy has.

Currently, I'm testing jerboa, which is an Android client for Lemmy. It's in alpha, has a few hiccups, but it's coming along nicely.

Personally, I hope the #RedditMigration spurs adoption of more Fediverse server software. And I hope Mastodon users continue to interact with Lemmy and Kbin.

All that said, as a mod of a Reddit community (r/Sizz) I somewhat regret giving Reddit all that content. They have nerve charging so much for API access!

Hopefully, we can build a better version of social media that focuses on protocols, not platforms.

One problem is there is no dark mode button in user settings. I'm sure there is something you can download and apply or something, just would like a little slider in settings before I go snowblind.

There is a dark mode. Just go to your username in the top right, choose settings, then halfway down is “theme”. I chose “darkly” and it looks good to me.

Edit: And I just realized I’m posting on not my main server. Beehaw may be different.

It's under the "Theme" dropdown!

Hmm, Im in dark mode but it might be because of OS settings

ETA: settings on the left, look and feel, theme

No dedicated toggle button but I personally always use dark mode

If you can't find a dark theme in your instance, try the DarkReader extension for Chrome or Firefox.

There is! If you're logged in go to settings. Under theme you can choose dark mode!

Which client are you using? With Jerboa it's under settings -> look and feel. I just set it to black and be done with it.

I tried applying at beehaw and lemmy.ml, but they didn't let me in. So my home instance is lemmy.world, and it just has themes under user settings.
