I would make fun of it, if people wouldn't be dying. Israel has massive joke potential recently. Not gonna make the same mistakes as Chaplin tho.

I’ve seen more praise for Chaplin for actually making fun of Hitler publicly where Hollywood still had business interests in Germany and wouldn’t really speak out. IIRC he got a lot of shit for it even though he showed the dramatic mannerisms and stupid ideology in full view.

He paid for the entire movie himself, as no producers would make anything that would depict Germany as bad due to Germany being a big market for American movies. Behind the bastards podcast has a great episode on Hollywood and Nazis.
