Vanced distributed a modified Youtube apk which infringed on Google's intellectual property rights. ReVanced is on much stronger legal ground since they only distribute their own software, the manager and patcher, and the patches to the Youtube apk. AFAIK the three strikes policy has to do with how ads are blocked on the youtube website so I guess we will have to wait and see.
