Lemmy.world grew from around 51000 total users the moment 3rd party reddit apps started to shut down on June 30 to 71000 total users at the time of this post (July 1). That's a 40% growth in about 12 hours!

I love it here, but the apps aren't great yet. I'm banking on future releases and improvements. I'm running 4 apps and they all have issues :/

Wefwef is promising; if you liked Apollo it comes pretty close to that experience

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've never used Apollo. Never owned an iphone actually. Lol I'm using wefwef on Android, is that why I've been having issues with it you think?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Same. Just weird but I'm not used to how iphone does things.

It's my least favorite so far

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

No idea. I don't mind the default Lemmy ux on Android haha

WefWef is incredible. Developer is beast!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Its amazing how much it looks like a native iOS app

Trying Connect on Android and it seems to be the best so far. I thought Summit was lacking and Jerboa looks worse imo. This one is just lacking some small qol features that would go a long way like how images and comment threads are handled.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I'm using connect as well, seems like the best of the current options. The way the comments are indented and colored reminds me of one of the Reddit Android apps, maybe relay

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm also using connect. It's not bad I must say. A few QOL updates and it will be perfect

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My long term Reddit app was Sync, so I'm waiting for that to migrate. For now I'm using Jerboa, and it's not too bad.

I've been an infinity user for a long time. It still works, but reddit has gotten so dull that I hardly ever visit the site anymore. I like it better here. I just wish infinity would move over here. Also, I can never sign into lemmy.world on jerboa, it keeps bitching about the server being too low. Connect for reddit is good, liftoff and also thunder. They're all good, but you can tell they still need a ton of work (understandable). Best so far has been wefwef. Ironically, it's a freaking webapp

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, other than Jerboa, most of these apps have been built from scratch or retooled in the last few weeks. I tried Liftoff, it's decent, but I think wefwef is the cream of the crop so far.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, wefwef has been very nice. I just wanted it to have notifications and also to stop throwing errors every now and then. Other than that, it's very well done

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

WefWef is awesome!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Liftoff on Android has been better than jerboa for me, minor bugs which I'm sure will get fixed. My favorite reddit app was sync tho, so excited to see that when it releases.

Yeah, I like lift off. Still doesn't have font size for the comments yet. Waiting for that feature and also the notifications to work. Wefwef, thunder and connect for Lemmy are pretty good, too
