micromobility - Ebikes, scooters, longboards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

This is an interesting observation: emotorcycles, escooters, etc. can lead the way to low carbon transport.
My issue is that for months every year it is colder than I like for two wheeled transportation. I have a motorcycle but don't want to use it below 50 F and will not use it on snow/ice. I've seen some better ways to handle this (enclosures, etc.) but they're not common. I hope good cold weather solutions for 2 wheel transport DO become more common along with being more electrified.
In China when /where it's cold, they put gloves that stay on the grips and strap a windscreen and roof over the motorbike
Interesting. I'm going to try to find pics.
The most common is a cover like this, then zip tire or velcro (?) on some winter gloves to the grips
I still commute when it's cold, but past a certain point I stop using my ebike and switch to my hybrid because battery. A waterproof/breathable shell with appropriate levels of insulation really helps a lot in terms of comfort.
I'll still commute to -30°C, but I'm not likely to use a bike for any other trips under -10°C.
As someone who lives in the upper midwest we have been using our moped from May-November it would be nice to have something to use when it gets cold. Riding it now isn't super pleasant unless its a sunny day
