The article doesn't mention "alt right" although that can definitely be inferred

I have also inferred a nutty political ideology, but the article specifically states the police have given no motive.

Per this CBC article, police have described it as "a hate-motivated incident related to gender expression and gender identity."

God knows why this AMP link to a CBS story was submitted to a Canadian sub in the first place but it's not a good article.
