I bought one for using an internal cd drive as an external one. the cd drive has a light but does not open. the eject button does nothing.

the cd drive is a lite-on ihas124-14.

the adapter is equip 133456

I am using these on a laptop.

Sometimes these adapters do not deliver enough power to the device. I have had better luck when the adapter also has a separate power in.
