Somewhat depressing, what 60-70-ish years does to us, and it's ridiculously little time in grand scheme of things.

I had the opposite reaction! I loved seeing the story of their lives - happy, sad, concerning - with on their faces. And some of these folks definitely aged into a better face than they started with.
