What firmware version are you on?
Did it boot to firmware-update and flash the new firmware when you reboot?
There is a CLI tool that you can use to schedule it: https://support.system76.com/articles/system-firmware/#starting-the-update-cli
I routinely use the CLI Firmware Updater, which was why I was surprised that the firmware version number seemed not to change.
The machine indeed booted to the updater, the updater seemed to do things, and even to say "Update applied successfully." The System Firmware still reports the same version, rather than the updated version.
I'm on the 2023-09-08 version, whereas the changelog indicates there is a 2023-10-13, which the firmware updater seems not to install when I try.
UPDATE: I tried to upgrade today and it appears to have worked. I noted the version change reported by the firmware updater and then by Pop! when I rebooted normally. I don't know why it worked today and not on the day the upgrade was first available. Any educated guesses are welcome.
Thank you for your help. If nothing else, it triggered me to try again.
