r/ModCoord: The admins in charge of demodded subreddits are mass-removing images of Huffman previously shared on them

the OP asked how are they gonna remove them all, so I replied they'll run a query for terms like "fuck spez". only to find my comment invisible, because they're already blocking it. spez protective word filter, it's active right now.

This kind of news makes me wish I could re-delete my account once more just for fun. Seriously fuckspez

Hey, with them restoring deleted accounts and comments maybe you can lol

I wonder if someone from the EU that had their comments restored tried to take Reddit to court for the violation of the GDPR's Right To Erasure.

Are comments considered "personal data?" From what I can tell it wouldn't be. Maybe their account info could be.

They would definitely be if the comment contained any personal information e.g. "As someone from Rome..."

Edit: Actually even posting in certain subreddits like /r/italy could maybe be argued to be PII. Could writing style be considered PII? Maybe they could keep everything if they ask ChatGPT to reword it or something.

"could be argued" is not nearly the same as "a court has decided."

Many people read these laws as they wish they would be enforced rather than as they have been.

My post here is not "information that relates to an identified or identifiable living individual". Though it may fall under " Different pieces of information, which collected together can lead to the identification of a particular person".

I don't know how or if the European courts have decided on this relating to posts people make on a social media site.
