The graphics in this look very intriguing. I'm not sure it'll be my favourite 2d mario game but I am sure I will enjoy it thoroughly! I'm happy Nintendo didn't abandon the format, I was somewhat worried they were going to only make 3d Mario games going forward.
They changed how Yoshi sounds, I say we riot
I did not notice this, truly devastating news. I don't know how I shall even be able to sleep at night!
Honestly
I was 60% sure the Mario Maker series meant there was never going to be another real sidescroller. Glad to be wrong!
I really want Nintendo to make a more powerful system next. One that can handle the detailed creation of 3D space, so we could have Mario Maker 3D and make worlds for Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and hell, later down the line release Mario Kart Maker. Alas, that would mean Nintendo listening to fans, and well, do they do that?
It looks like Mario Maker means Nintendo can't release a standard 2d Mario any longer. They had to go back to the drawing board and amp up the custom gimmicks of each level.
The trailer blew me away with style and creativity. This will most likely be a day one purchase for my house.
